As you come into White Deer you'll see the wind turbines to the north of US 60 or west of Ranch Road 294

The first wind farm in the windiest part of the state. The project consists of 80 Mitsubishi turbines, and is Shell WindEnergy's second major commercial project in the U.S. Each year, the project produces enough power to meet the energy needs of approximately 30,000 households. The hub sits an impressive 65 meters off the ground.
